Butternut Creek flows through our local Meeks Park and meets the Nottely River, which then flows into the lake of the same name. This is a site I have brought students to for plein air workshops and have painted in this beautiful park many times. In early spring, the new grass is such a bright, light green and it appears just before the trees give birth to a new season of leaves.
